Liebster Award

I am truly honored to be nominated for the Liebster Award by Nicole from "The Adventures in the ATC." What a special surprise that truly made my day! You can follow Nicole at:

The Liebster award is given to beginning bloggers. It is to help acknowledge new blogs. After receiving the nomination, the blogger answers 11 questions to help their followers get to know them better. Then they can nominate up to 11 other bloggers!!

1. Why and how long ago did you start blogging?
I just started blogging in February of this year, 2015. I have been following other special education blogs and thought I could contribute what I am doing in my classroom with others. I have been teaching for 10 years in special education. I have a Bachelors degree in Regular Education and Special Education as well as my Masters in Teaching and Leadership. I love sharing what I have learned and I hope you enjoy it as well.

 2. What one word sums up the heart of your blog and why?
PASSION- I have the passion to learn and work hard so all my students can achieve and grow.

3. Is there something you learned late in your blogging journey you wished you knew before?
I am so new to blogging that I have a TON still to learn. The best part is learning from each and every one of you and I continue to learn more each week. One goal of mine is to get on a weekly schedule so I can plan out what posts I want to do each week (ie resource round up, currently, tips and tricks...)

4. What is your favorite pastime other than blogging?
I love my family and spending time with them outdoors (biking, walking, swimming, farmers market ect). My family includes: my husband- Joe, my twin boys- Reilly and Liam who are 4, and my fur babies- 2 beagles- Sully and Hannah, and our bengal kitty- Brooklynn!

5. How many hours a week do you dedicate to your blog/TPT?
Definitely not enough! April has been really busy at school for me, but I hope to spend 6-10 hours each week. I have a TPT store, but I have not added any products yet- that is a huge goal for me to begin doing!!

6. What category of blog posts do you enjoy most?
I love sharing what I am doing in my classroom; whether that is a curriculum I am using or another resource that I found on TPT.

7. Where does your blog inspiration come from?
From my fellow bloggers and my students (where else?!)

8. Which post that you have written are you most proud of?
I loved sharing my post about Deanna Jump's product on Guiding Readers, I posted it on Instagram and tagged her and she replied!! AMAZING!

9. Is there a post you have been planning to do but have been postponing it for awhile?
Yes, but it is not so much as that I have been postponing it, but it is that I am trying to catch up on all my paperwork this week! I cannot wait to share with all of you the wonderful conference that I attended this week called, "Emerging Balanced Literacy for Students with Significant Disabilities!"

10. What is your favorite aspect of blogging?
My favorite part about blogging is connecting with all the wonderful special education teachers/bloggers out there. In such a short time I have been a part of a wonderful, accepting group of ladies and we started a collaborative Facebook and Instagram page- go check it out! #WeTeachSped

11. Which idea from a blog would you like to try yourself?
OMG I just saw Traci from "The Bender Bunch" share her bulletin board product for the beginning of the year called, " Our Profiles! (A Get-to-Know-You Bulletin Board Activity), they are so cute and I am going to use them for next school year! Check them out below:

Now I nominate there wonderful teacher bloggers that I encourage you to follow!
3. And I am so new, I don't know a lot of new blogs- but give me a shout out if you are new and I missed you!!

Do you know of a blog that I should absolutely be following? Let me know by leaving me a comment.
